The Narrows
Added this day
13 mileswalked
By far, the most fun hike I have ever been on. Quinn and I were punctual getting ready in the morning, eager to get on the shuttle to the trailhead. After 2 miles of boring dry land hiking, we made it to the river entrance.
From there it was 9 miles of trudging through a river bed, lined with large smooth invisible rocks, with water depths ranging from your ankles all the way to your neck. It was such an incredible experience with even more incredible views. Shade and cool air along with chill water made a 13 mile day feel like a cake walk.
By far the best moment of this journey so far has been stumbling upon a waterfall in the narrows, with no one but Quinn and I around to enjoy it. I'm pretty sure that most of life's problems can be solved by being in a body of water, unless of course the biggest problem in your life at that moment is drowning... then it wouldn't help much.
We treated ourselves to a few more canned Gatorades and cooked up a storm at our campsite. A day full of adventure followed by a night of relaxing and enjoying a cool night, a clean shower, and the best company I could ask for.
TLDR: You have to hike The Narrows at some point in your life!
